Dear St. Francis Community,
What is to be loved about St. Francis of Assisi School is that it is a community school focused on rigor, kindness, acceptance and fostering students to deepen their relationship with God. I am filled with gratitude for the vibrant and diverse community we have. It is a blessing to be part of a school where the Catholic faith, academic excellence, and a commitment to inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do.
At St. Francis, our Catholic faith is not just a part of our curriculum – it is the foundation upon which all our endeavors stand. We come together in prayer and service, drawing strength from the teachings of Christ and the example of the saints. Our faith calls us to care for one another. We live in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi to provide for those who are most vulnerable, and to act as instruments of peace and justice in our world. I am deeply proud of how our students and staff live these values each day.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our International Baccalaureate (IB) program. As one of the only schools in the Baltimore area to offer this rigorous curriculum, we strive to provide our students with the knowledge and skills they need to be critical thinkers. The IB program helps our students connect with the world beyond Baltimore and empowers them to engage with it in meaningful, transformative ways. It’s an honor to see how our teachers take on this challenge with enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep sense of purpose.
St. Francis is a Catholic school where kindness and acceptance are not only taught—they are lived. We proudly welcome students from a wide array of racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and our diverse school community is one of our greatest strengths. We believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment where they feel seen, heard, and valued. This belief is reflected not only in our classrooms, but also in the rich variety of extracurricular activities we offer—from music and the arts to environmental education and athletics—giving every student a chance to grow and thrive beyond academics.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated faculty and staff, who consistently go above and beyond to create strong, supportive relationships with our students. These relationships are the cornerstone of our school’s success. From our pre-k to middle school teachers, they not only inspire curiosity and achievement, but also nurture the spiritual, emotional, and social growth of each child. They know our students by name and by heart, and their passion for teaching is evident in every lesson, every interaction, and every prayer.
We look forward to getting to know your child and family and welcoming you to the St. Francis community.
In Christ’s Love,

Mr. John Seibel
